LCXC & Paper Garden Records Present: A Monthly Road Trip Playlist!

January 13, 2016 by Carson Vaughan in Entertainment To-Go

At Local Color XC, we spend a fair amount of our time on the road. To avoid the notorious "highway hypnosis," we gravitate toward podcasts of one type or another: WTF w/ Marc Maron, Comedy Bang Bang, U Talkin' U2 to Me?, Radiolab, This American Life, Serial, etc.

But sometimes you just need to sit back, crank up the road tunes and watch the plains turn to mountains turn to oceans. We're excited to announce that starting this month, we're teaming up with Paper Garden Records (PGR) to present a monthly road-trip playlist! Curated by the good folks at our favorite Brooklyn-based indie record label, these playlists correspond to the region Local Color XC is currently traveling through. Each mix features a handful of artists currently on the Paper Garden roster, in addition to other great tunes endorsed by PGR.

We hope you'll take a listen and feel - at least for a little while - like you're on the journey with us. If you want the full-effect, find a 70-lb goldendoodle to breath on your neck while you're listening.

And now, without further ado, Local Color XC and Paper Garden Records present your official January Road Trip Playlist. To kick things off, here's a song called "For Distant Viewing," by Paper Garden's own Little Tybee.
