For his first official Local Color XC interview, Carson met up with author and Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Philip Caputo at the Wagon Wheel Saloon in Patagonia, AZ. Caputo is best known for his 1977 Vietnam War Memoir, A Rumor of War. More relevant to LCXC, however, is his 2013 travel memoir, The Longest Road: Overland in Search of America, From Key West to the Arctic Ocean, in which he rents an Airstream and travels, well, from Key West to the Arctic Ocean.
